Pure Sun All In One Tattoo Guard SPF 20/30/50 (That's So)

5/51 review

Not for sunbeds. Never use a product with an SPF on a sunbed: the filter blocks the UV light from the sunbed and stops you tanning. These products are made for the sun.

Description

Progressive sun protection for tattooed skin: SPF 20, 30 or 50, and tattoos that keep their colours

That'so Pure Sun All In One Tattoo Guard (also called Tattoo Guardian) is a sun protection spray made for tattooed skin, with UVA and UVB filters. Formulated with patented TattooSaver™ technology, it helps prevent tattoos from fading in the sun while deeply moisturising the skin. Like the whole Pure Sun range, it works with progressive SPF: you choose your protection, from 20 to 50, by the number of layers you spray. If you have no tattoo to protect, choose Pure Sun SPF 20/30/50.

At a glance

  • Tattoo protection: patented TattooSaver™ technology against fading
  • Progressive SPF: SPF 20, 30 or 50 in one bottle
  • UVA/UVB filters: compliant with European regulations
  • Skincare: avocado and jojoba oils and vitamin E for hydrated, supple skin
  • Continuous spray: a very fine dry-oil mist, no need to rub in

Size: 175ml

Why protect your tattoo from the sun with Tattoo Guard?

UV rays fade ink over time: a tattoo left unprotected slowly loses its contrast and the brightness of its colours. Pure Sun Tattoo Guard is designed for exactly this. Its TattooSaver™ technology helps prevent tattoo fading, its UV filters protect the skin against UVA and UVB, and its oils deeply moisturise tattooed skin that needs suppleness.

You only take one bottle to the beach: the same protection for your tattoo and for the rest of your body, with the SPF that suits your skin and the day’s sunshine.

That'so Tattoo Guard ingredients

  • TattooSaver™: the patented technology that helps prevent tattoo fading.
  • UVA and UVB filters: high-performance UV filters, fully compliant with European regulations.
  • Melanup+: stimulates natural melanin production.
  • Tyr-Excel: based on tyrosine, it improves the tanning process.
  • Avocado oil and jojoba oil: for hydrated, supple skin.
  • Vitamin E: a powerful antioxidant that neutralises free radicals and helps prevent skin damage.

How to apply Tattoo Guard sun spray on a tattoo

Pure Sun Tattoo Guard sprays continuously and does not need rubbing in. You build up the SPF with each layer:

  • SPF 20: spray for 10 seconds over all your skin, from about 30 cm.
  • SPF 30: spray a second time 3 minutes later.
  • SPF 50: wait another 3 minutes and spray a third time.

The bottle works in any direction: you can easily reach your back, your shoulders and the backs of your legs, where many tattoos are. Reapply after every swim.

Tattoo Guard or Pure Sun SPF 20/30/50: which one to choose?

  • Pure Sun Tattoo Guard: for tattooed skin. It adds TattooSaver™ technology to the progressive SPF 20/30/50 protection.
  • Pure Sun SPF 20/30/50: the same progressive protection, without the tattoo-specific ingredient.

For very fair skin or strong sun, the range also includes Pure Sun SPF 50/50+. And for one specific tattoo, the SPF 50 tattoo stick fits in your pocket as an extra.

That'so Tattoo Guard and tattoo sun protection FAQs

Which sun cream should you choose for a tattoo?

Choose a sun protection that filters UVA and UVB and protects the ink. Pure Sun Tattoo Guard does both: UV filters plus TattooSaver™ technology against fading.

Does Tattoo Guard also protect skin without tattoos?

Yes. It is a complete sun protection, SPF 20 to 50, to spray over all your skin, tattooed or not.

How do you go from SPF 20 to SPF 50?

One layer gives SPF 20, a second layer 3 minutes later gives SPF 30, and a third layer another 3 minutes later gives SPF 50.

Can you use Tattoo Guard on a new tattoo?

A healing tattoo should not be exposed to the sun. Follow your tattoo artist’s advice, then protect your healed tattoo with Tattoo Guard.
