Karat Original is a tanning accelerator designed for UV sunbeds. It gives your skin what it needs during your tanning session: melanin precursors to help you tan faster, and rich, nourishing care so your skin stays soft and hydrated, session after session.

Its full name is Karat Original Lotion and the label calls it a tanning lotion, but Karat Original is above all a tanning butter: its texture is richer than a classic lotion. It’s the one to choose for dry or demanding skin, and for anyone who wants a real treat for their skin as well as an intense tan. It contains no bronzers: the colour comes from your skin alone.

• Tyrosine and acetyl tyrosine: the two amino acids the skin uses to make melanin, the foundation of any good tanning accelerator.
• ATP (adenosine triphosphate): the energy source of your cells, it supports skin activity during UV exposure.
• Helio Carrot Oil: the signature ingredient of the Karat range, rich in beta-carotene, which gives the skin vitamins and nutrients.
• Matrixyl Synthe 6 (palmitoyl tripeptide-38): an anti-ageing peptide that smooths wrinkles and firms the skin.
• Glaucine: firms and tones the skin.
• Shea butter: deeply nourishing, perfect for dry skin.
• Aloe vera: soothes and hydrates.
• Baobab and jojoba oils: strengthen the skin barrier and add softness and radiance.

Apply Karat Original tanning butter generously to clean, dry skin all over your body before your tanning session. Focus on dry areas (legs, arms, décolletage). Avoid contact with the eyes and wash your hands after application. Stick to the session time recommended by your salon to avoid burning. Stop using it if irritation occurs.

Karat Original contains no SPF: it is designed for UV sunbeds and can be used outdoors when the sun is at its weakest. Store in a cool place, away from light.

Both Body Butter tanning butters share the same base: Helio Carrot Oil, aloe vera, Matrixyl Synthe 6 and a coconut fragrance. The difference lies in the bronzers.

• Karat Original (bronzer-free): ideal for fair skin and your first sessions, while you build your base tan.
• Karat Bronzer (with DHA and an instant bronzer): ideal for olive skin or skin that’s already well tanned. DHA doesn’t create the colour, it transforms it: a tan that has gone dull gets its coppery glow back.

Does Karat Original contain bronzers?
