Karat Tingle key ingredients

• Benzyl nicotinate: the ingredient behind the tingle. It warms the skin’s surface and gives it a rosy flush, which helps intensify your tan. It’s one of the tingle ingredients with the mildest tingling sensation.
• Panthenol: improves hydration and soothes irritated, itchy skin. It supports skin regeneration, which is why it’s so often found in after-sun products. It reaches the deeper layers of the skin, where cells absorb it and convert it into vitamin B5 for intense hydration.
• Aloe Vera: deeply hydrating, aloe vera leaves your skin soft and relaxed.
• L-Tyrosine: a must in every tanning accelerator. L-tyrosine is the amino acid precursor of melanin, so it works as a natural tanning accelerator.
• Carrot extract: kind to sensitive skin, carrot extract is rich in antioxidants, has powerful anti-ageing effects and soothes sun-stressed, reddened skin. It also gives a light tinted glow that enhances the natural colour of your tan.
• Jojoba oil: rich in omega-9 fatty acids, it nourishes the skin and has a strong soothing effect, leaving it elastic, supple and hydrated. Its caring, calming properties soothe irritation and reduce redness while protecting your skin from external aggressors.
• Shea butter: rich in linoleic acid and vitamins A and E, it’s a great ally for intense hydration and skincare. It nourishes your skin, restores its suppleness and supports its regeneration.
• Hydrolysed vegetable proteins: thanks to the amino acids in their structure, hydrolysed vegetable proteins form a protein-lipid blend that helps the skin hold more water. Alongside the other hydrating ingredients, they multiply the moisturising effect, so your skin stays protected from dehydration, and therefore from flaking, for longer.

What is a tingle tanning lotion?

Tingles are the most powerful products in the tanning world, but they’re not for everyone. As the name suggests, a tingle makes your skin tingle. Accelerators of this kind warm the skin with ingredients such as cinnamon essential oil or methyl nicotinate (widely used for the local warmth it gives). This warmth gives a noticeably faster tan. You’ll feel your skin warm up, with slight redness and a tingling sensation that people experience differently (it’s best to try a sachet before buying a bottle). Please note: when you apply it, and for as long as the product is active (about 1 hour), your skin may look red, as if it were sunburnt! Don’t worry, it’s just the blood flow to the skin’s surface that causes it. Once the effect wears off, the redness disappears and leaves a genuinely boosted tan. Tip: the tingle effect works especially well on legs that are slow to tan.
