Platin Dark Tan - Tanning accelerator for irritated skin (Art of Sun)

Platin Dark Tan is a tanning lotion for sunbeds. Applied before your session, it speeds up your tan. Because it contains no bronzers, all the colour you get comes from your skin’s own melanin production: your tan builds session after session, with no orange tone.

What makes it special is the skincare. High-quality ingredients nourish sun-exposed skin, hydrate it, smooth it and firm it. Platin Dark Tan soothes and conditions irritated skin, and protects it from environmental stress. It’s the accelerator to choose when your skin reacts easily or feels uncomfortable.

This tanning lotion contains neither DHA nor erythrulose. It is made in Germany by UV-Power, in Meppen. The full ingredient list (INCI) is shown in its own section on this page.

Apply Platin Dark Tan generously to clean, dry skin just before your tanning session, in an even layer all over your body. Avoid contact with your eyes and wash your hands after application. Stick to the session time recommended by your salon to avoid burning.

You can also use Platin Dark Tan after your session, as a moisturiser. For external use only; stop using it if irritation occurs. The product is designed for sunbeds and suitable for outdoor use when the sun is at its weakest. Store it in a cool place, away from sunlight.

Both treatments belong to Art of Sun’s Platin range, but they are made for different areas.

• Platin Dark Tan: the body lotion, bronzer-free, which speeds up your tan and soothes irritated skin.
• Platin ampoules: tanning intensifiers just for the face, neck and décolletage, in a 2ml bronzer-free version or a 6ml version with DHA.

Is your skin already olive or deeply tanned? A tanning accelerator with bronzers, such as Art of Sun’s Super Dark Black Bronzer, takes over. DHA doesn’t create the colour, it transforms it: a tan that has gone dull regains its coppery glow.

Does Platin Dark Tan contain bronzers?

No. Platin Dark Tan contains neither DHA nor erythrulose. The caramel in its ingredient list is a colourant, not a bronzer: the colour of your tan comes only from your sessions.

Does the Platin Dark Tan accelerator contain SPF?

No. This Art of Sun accelerator contains no SPF: it is not a sun cream and does not protect your skin from UV rays.

Is Platin Dark Tan suitable for sensitive skin?

It is formulated to soothe irritated skin, thanks to AquaCacteen and aloe vera. It contains fragrance: if your skin reacts to it, stop using it.

Should I apply it before or after my session?

Both. Before your session, Platin Dark Tan supports your tan; afterwards, it hydrates your UV-exposed skin.

What is AquaCacteen?

AquaCacteen is an extract of prickly pear (Opuntia), the Mexican cactus. Rich in vitamins, antioxidants and minerals, it hydrates and calms irritated skin.

What’s the difference between the 15ml sachet and the 150ml tube?

The formula is the same. The 15ml sachet lets you try the accelerator before moving on to the 150ml tube for your regular sessions.
