Energising exfoliating body scrub ‘Jet Set Scrub’ (Jet Set Sun)

A good tan takes a little prep, and exfoliating comes first. Whether you choose self tan, a sunbed or the sun, every good tan starts with a scrub.

With self tan, it matters even more: DHA, the active ingredient in self tan and in sunbed lotions with bronzers, colours the top layer of the skin. Removing the dead cells on the surface lets your skin take the product far better, so your tan comes out deeper, more even and more radiant.

• Before self tan or a tanning session: exfoliate 24 hours before you apply.
• In the shower: on wet skin, massage in a small amount of scrub with circular motions, focusing on rough areas (elbows, knees, heels), then rinse.
• Just before self tan: moisturise dry areas (knees, elbows) and wait 1 hour before applying your Jet Set Sun self tan.
• Afterwards: moisturise every day and don’t exfoliate while your colour lasts. When it starts to fade, a gentle scrub once a week helps it fade evenly; once it has gone, start the cycle again: scrub, apply, moisturise.

Both Jet Set Sun scrubs do the same job: prepping your skin for tanning. The difference lies in the grain size.

• The body scrub (this product): for large areas, from legs to shoulders, and thicker skin such as elbows and knees.
• The Jet Set Scrub face scrub: a finer grain, with calibrated spherical microbeads, for the demanding, sensitive skin of the face and décolletage.

When should I exfoliate before self tan?

Exfoliate 24 hours before applying your self tan or tanning product. Your smoothed skin then takes the product more evenly.

Can I use Jet Set Scrub before a sunbed or sunbathing?

Yes. It was designed for Jet Set Sun self tans, but it preps the skin just as well for any other kind of tan: before tanning under the UV of a sunbed or before time in the sun.

Does a scrub damage the skin?

No. Jet Set Scrub exfoliates gently: it removes dead skin cells and preserves the skin’s natural hydrolipidic film. It’s non-irritating, so you can apply your tanning products straight after your shower.

How often should I exfoliate?

Once, 24 hours before each self tan application. In between, moisturise every day without scrubbing to keep your colour longer. When the colour starts to fade, a gentle scrub once a week helps it fade evenly, then a fresh scrub preps your skin for the next application.
